There needs to be a PO and Subcontract Cost Release Procedure

Before moving to ProjectSight, if a PO was estimated to be $100,000 but due to timing, schedules, etc we only get invoiced $75,000, we need a way to release the remaining $25,000 as it will never be invoiced. The same could hold true for a Subcontract, but we could always do a change order to fix those.

POs for large concrete orders, or rentals, or blanket POs, we can never really estimate the real total.


Now our commitments are off. In Vista, we can use the PO Close feature will look at invoiced to date and if we choose to close it, the remaining costs are posted as negatives in job cost so total commitment shows $75,000 and current PO amount is $75,000.

    This has caused many issues between our site teams and finance showing the wrong commitments on reports. Is this being considered for all the Vista customers?
