The drawings Module should be able to follow the United State National CAD Standard, which industry utilizes the appropriate ordering of disciplines, by this nature, it can not be simply ordered aphabetically or numerically, as the ordering prescribed by this standard is not that way. we need an ability to sort it this way as to follow industry standard of how drawings are indexed (or at least have the ability to sort them this way in addition to the aphabetical/numeric way).https://nationalcadstandard.org/ncs6/pdfs/ncs6_uds1.pdf
This feature is necessary as an industry standard for how drawings are viewed. Multiple high-level managers within my company have approached the project teams to make this happen, but we are unable to achieve the desired result. One thought is it allow a batch edit on the "Sort" field category of "Number (Semantically)". This at first looks like an editable field, however it is not presented as an editable option within the drawing batch edit.
This is a big problem. Using the drawing number alphabetically to sort drawings is not the industry standard. The G drawings are first. We can't export the current set of drawings in the proper order.
ProjectSight support told me the drawing number and revision are used as primary keys. Which is also why when looking at Drawings in list view, the Number and Revision columns are unsortable. You can click the rest of the field columns and they immediately sort ascending/descending. A separate primary key indexed from 1 would be more useful.
This also yields the Number and Revision fields unavailable as groups to filter in the list view.
This would be a very helpful feature. Often we have general (G) sheets that we'd like to be at the start of the sheet list.
I have also noticed this and vote for this enhancement request.
