Hide Fields in Record Settings

If there is a field in a record that the client does not want to see, you have to go through each security group: -> Fields Tab-> Scroll and select the record -> Expand Fields and change it so that it isn't visible for that security group. If you have 10 security groups, you have to do that 10 times. It seems like there should be a way to have a "hide" option under the field attributes in the record settings. There is a column with check boxes to select and make them required, there should be a column right next to it to hide that field.
