Cost Forecast is really just doing backward revenue forecasting. Not useful.

Cost Forecasting is a very standard thing in the industry, but I have never heard of a backward revenue forecast. A “Forecast” by definition is “predict or estimate a future event or trend.”

Must companies forecast revenue they expect to receive in the future and then track against current performance month to month. I really think you need to look at this, as for us it makes the whole cost forecasting feature completely useless.

This request was a result of an escalated RFI PS-39029. The issue asked why Pay apps were not being included in the previous Cost forecast. The Cost forecast requires that App for payment dates to be before the Cost Forecast Date. Yep, the Cost Forecast only works if you are tracking previous historically dated App for payment or Invoices.
