Uploaded files from a record should only be visible to users with access to the record in the File Library.

Enhancement description:

Uploaded files from a record should only be visible to users with access to the record in the File Library. Users should not be able to see other files in the file library unless their company is linked to the record.

What is the customer trying to accomplish?

In the project we have 5 different main contractors and 4 design teams, in addition to many other companies of another type (110 users). We want to activate the Budget and Cost Management module.

As expected, it is not possible for users of one builder to see the change orders of another builder or its associated documents. The first is possible, the second is not.

Although users of other companies cannot see the RECORD related to that change order, from the FILE LIBRARY they could see the associated documents, measurements, budgets...

*The logical thing would be that if a document is associated to a record, only people who have access to that record can see that document in the file library.*

How is the lack of functionality affecting their business?

Changing it manually is time consuming and induces error, and in economic matters, we cannot afford those errors. It is impossible to change the folder permission in the file library if you have more than 1000 records.

Suggested implementation:

There should be a project specific setting under Record Settings>Module>Sharing to allow user access to their specific records in the file library.
