Search bar in record lists should search all record fields
Enhancement description:
The search bar should allow for searching any field in a record and allow users to specify which field to search in contextually if needed.
What are we trying to accomplish?
Make searching for certain records easier and faster. For example, finding all records related to a company by searching the name of the company should be possible.
How is the lack of functionality affecting us?
When in a record list (e.g. Contracts) and a company name is typed into the search bar on the right side pane, nothing is pulled up in the list even if records are assigned to the company. The filters area below the search bar is difficult to use when dealing with large numbers of companies. If a user needs to filter for only one company, and there are 500 companies to scroll through, this becomes time consuming.
Suggested implementation:
Have all fields be searchable via the search bar and allow users to specify which field to search in from a selection menu.
