Prefix for Submittal/RFI Numbers

My project team is managing 5 buildings, which each have their own Project Sight project. Therefore, we will have 5 different RFI #0001, and 5 different Submittal #030000-001. It's easier for everyone if autonumbering is turned on. However, our project team wants to add a prefix to the number (e.g. RFI #A0001 for building A) and Project Sight doesn't have the capability to add a custom prefix while autonumbering is activated. The best way I see for this to happen is to add a prefix field in the Record Settings that applies to all RFIs or Submittals within the project.
