Portfolio/Project Field Settings should affect the pop-up windows as well.

When Fields are set to be view only or removed they will still appear on the pop-up windows. Setting the Field Settings should be affecting those fields as well.

EXAMPLE: I have set the Contracts "Rules" Field to be view only and default to Controlled Total as that is the only type of contract we will use. While the field is view only in the record, when a new contract is created the pop-up window still allows users to change the default to another Contract Rule.

EXAMPLE: I have set the Contracts Unit Price Field to be not available, however it is still a fully functioning option in the pop-up window of the Contracts.

This appears to be true for all fields that appear in similar pop-up windows.
