Notification Trigger for Edits to Existing PCOs in the Change Orders Section

Description:

I would like to suggest an enhancement in the Change Orders > Potential Change Orders (PCOs) section of ProjectSight.

Currently, there are limited notification options available when working with PCOs. However, one critical feature that’s missing is a real-time notification or alert system when any user edits or modifies details of an already created PCO, especially the description, cost, or schedule impact fields.

Why This Is Important:

In many project teams, multiple users (e.g., Project Coordinators, Assistant PMs, PMs) are working simultaneously on change orders. When someone edits an existing PCO—such as updating the description, adjusting scope details, or modifying internal notes—others may not be aware unless they manually check the log or download and compare it with a previous version.

This lack of visibility can lead to:

• Inaccurate updates to the Master Change Order Log

• Duplicate work or missed changes

• Miscommunication between the office and field teams

Suggested Solution:

Introduce a notification system that triggers alerts (via email or in-app) when key fields of a PCO are changed. For example:

• If User A edits the description of PCO-045, then User B who is also working on the CO log is notified.

• The notification could say:
  "PCO-045 has been updated by [User A] on [Date/Time]. Description field modified."

Benefits:

• Enhances team coordination

• Prevents manual re-verification of every log update

• Saves time and reduces errors in managing the Master Log

• Aligns with collaborative workflows in large teams

I believe this addition would greatly improve change order tracking and streamline project management workflows in ProjectSight.
