The new navigation changes bring a lot of improvements, but also a major regression that negates some of the improvements that could have potentially reduced clicks.
The new design has inadvertently increased the number of clicks to open multiple tabs with different record types, because the option to right-click a menu item and open it in a new tab has been removed.
I think this regression needs to be fixed asap.
