Include a Partial Payment Field in the Application for Payment Module

It would be highly beneficial to include a dedicated "Partial Payment" field within the Application for Payment module in ProjectSight. This feature would allow users to accurately track and record partial payments made against a contract, improving financial management and reporting. Currently, users must manually track partial payments using workarounds such as custom statuses or comments, which can be inefficient and prone to errors. A built-in field for partial payments would streamline this process, ensuring that all payment information is easily accessible and accurately reflected within the system.

Benefits:

  • Streamlines the tracking of partial payments, reducing manual work and potential errors.

  • Provides a clearer financial overview within the Application for Payment module.

  • Enhances reporting capabilities, ensuring accurate and complete financial records.

  • Improves overall user experience by addressing a common need within payment management.

Use Case:

  • Contractors or project managers who receive multiple payments over time for a single contract would benefit from a simple, dedicated field to record these transactions, ensuring that their financial records are precise and up to date.

Yes, having a partial payment field with the capability to input the actual amount paid would be ideal. In the interim, this work around is very helpful. It is important for the Project Manager to know if the client did not make a full payment.
