Drawing Index Improvements
This first iteration of the Drawing Index is nice, but we want to see the following improvements:
The dropdown indicator is small, and it isn't clear or intuitive that users can click on the sheet name to open this panel. I think that making the design so flat, and only showing an outline on the hover state makes it unintuitive. I think the outline & fill should be visible in some form at all times, not only on hover. (See screenshot from your competition. This is better.)
Next to the drawing name, it shows "Current" or "Not Current". This should really show the Version Title instead, with current/not current next to that.
Additionally, this version title should also be a dropdown for the drawing version, so users could quickly switch versions from there.
Add a "Show All Drawings" button to remove any search or filter constraints on the Index.
Add a close button to Index panel, to make it clear how to dismiss the panel. This could be an arrow (<) signifying the option to minimize the panel to the left or the typical (x) close button.
