The ability to modify the Contract Company after a contract has been created.

There are a few reasons that this should be urgently addressed:

  1. Our PMs are proactive and will have the scope and contract values already in our PMS prior to final negotiations with subcontractors. Having to wait is very detrimental to our best practices and prevents efficiency.

  2. Many times, especially during the course of a lengthy construction project a subcontractor company will be purchased by another company or have their company name change for a number of reasons. legally we must amend the subcontract to conform with their new company name. We do this by a no cost change order. Not having the ability to change the company name, we must now close out the subcontract and reissue a new subcontract. this is very time consuming, inefficient and not in the best interest of the project.
