Open Items - Auto-Populate Next Sequential Number

When creating a new open item then "Number" field should auto-populate to the next sequential item number. This will reduce fields that the user must manually enter and simplify the process once a large number of items have been created. It can be a challenge to find the "next" number when tasks have been sorted and organized in any order other than "sort by task number".
