View files and models when offline through the File Library in the ProjectSight app
The mobile app has the most benefit to be be utilized by the field. Currently, you must have internet connectivity when accessing files and models through the ProjectSight app as the app redirects and opens file through web.connect.trimble.com. This works fine and has a robust interface but requires an adequate internet connection. When you don't have adequate connectivity, which occurs on most of our sites, accessing files and models through the app just doesn't work. The workaround is to utilize the trimble connect app for viewing files without an internet connection (offline). There are two issues with this. 1) It's difficult enough to introduce and get utilization from field personnel with new technology especially when you have to utilize two apps to accomplish a task. The experience needs to be complete, straight forward and as consistent as possible whether on-line or offline. 2) The available viewing and markup tools are less robust in trimble connect then what exists on the web.connect.trimble.com site. Bottom-line, we need to have the primary ProjectSight app configured to accomplish what the field requires working off of a mobile device without having to utilize multiole apps.
